LEAVES / TRACES is comprised of drawings on leaves collected from around the Grinnell College campus, found nestled between sun-warmed railway ties or piled against neglected bicycles under the East loggia. I collected the leaves for this project between February 12 and March 2 of that year. Leaves are included from seven species of trees. The College’s combination of native and decorative non-native tree species locates these products and processes within this temporal and geographic space.
